BookLive helps local musicians and artists survive coronavirus with Virtual Serenades
MILWAUKEE (April 20, 2020) — Milwaukee-based musician booking platform BookLive has launched Virtual Serenades. These serenades allow local musicians to get hired digitally and earn money by recording personalized videos of songs.
Anyone looking to celebrate a special moment that would have happened in-person (such as a birthday, a wedding anniversary, etc.) is able to send one of these custom Virtual Serenades to their friends or family. During this financially-difficult time, Virtual Serenades start at an affordable $25. Purchasers are also able to have the musician share a special message as part of the video. Anyone planning an event to discover and hire the perfect digital entertainment in four easy steps:
- Visit virtualserenades.com/virtual-serenades;
- Browse and choose the perfect musician
- The musician creates the video within 48 hours on average
- You receive a private video link to send to the recipient
Virtual Serenades are also supporting the artist community. BookLive is partnering with local arts and culture non-profit, ImagineMKE, to donate 10% of all Virtual Serenade sales to the Artist Relief Fund. This relief fund has raised 70% of their $195,000.00 goal, and has distributed over $100,000 to local artists in need. Music isn’t the only artform affected by COVID-19, and this is a way to help all artists.
BookLive has brought together listings for more than 250 artists in their Artist Marketplace, and plans to add another 500 listings in the coming months. Artists interested in being listed can sign up for free at pro.booklive.com/artist-marketplace.
“COVID-19 has brought the traditional arts and entertainment industries to a grinding halt. It’s been devastating to watch and be affected personally. We’re excited to find ways to support our artist community through creative digital efforts, and we’ve been amazed to see artists adapting with live streaming and virtual tip jars. We hope to focus this creative energy into a way that helps artists earn money reliably,” said Jared Judge, violinist and CEO of BookLive.
The BookLive Artist Marketplace is designed to help local artists gain visibility and book gigs at live events.
Established by local musicians Jared Judge and Keaton Viavattine in Milwaukee in 2016, BookLive’s mission is to help artists all over the country make a living doing what they love. It does this by matching them with paid work via its Artist Marketplace, and by helping them organize and plan their performances with its BookLive Pro gig management app. By helping artists, BookLive aims to increase the amount of art in its communities and the world.
